let's go fly a kite!
a breath of fresh air...

oh hi there!  it’s me.

i know, i know…it’s been WAY too long since i’ve posted about anything! that has got to change!  to be totally honest i just haven’t mastered this blogging thing & it still takes me a little bit of time to collaborate exactly what i want to share when it comes to the photos i take & the story i really want them to tell.  so, since it does take me a little longer to put them together i haven’t taken time for them because i have been swamped with work!  not a bad problem to have – i keep telling myself that when i get slightly overwhelmed/worked up about all that i want to accomplish by the end of the year.  deep breath in…. .. now exhale.  it’s all going to be ok.  it’s all going to get done.  it doesn’t help to get all flustered right?  ;)   right.

well, i am gonna start trying to be a lot better with this fun blogging portion of my work/life.  (do you like how i put that?  my man would have totally reapeated it to make me see how rediculous it sounded…start trying?)… but it’s true – why wait till january to start being better at something?  why not start right NOW?!  i think i’m going to need some encouragement/accountability along the way.  but when i really get the hang of this it’s going to get rowdy up in here & i hope y’all are ready for it!  haha  needless to say there is a lot of “back-blogging”, if you will, that i really want to do!  i don’t want to skip over some of my most recent, & as of right now, FAVORITE work thus far in my career.  that would just be a shame! (i mean, i’ve shot 7 weddings since my last post!)

SO, we’ll see how all of that winds up coming together, but for now i’m just going to jump back to a sunny & very windy day in september…labor day!

my sweetness & i started by going through my fridge & then to the store to load up on delish pic-nic goodies - yes, that’s wine, baked chicken left-overs, cheese, veggies & hummas (some of my favorite foods i might add).  & we made our way down to Old Town St. Charles – a local treasure.  we set up our little meal on a blanket…remember, it was really windy…we had to sit in the sun because it was actually pretty chilly in the shade…one of those first few days with a chill in the air.  mmmmm…

after our mini-feast we relaxed; enjoying the river flowing by quickly & of course people watching (who doesn’t love that?).  once we ran out of sun on our little spot we cleaned up & grabbed the kite.  now, this was fun!  john paul & i bought this fantastic kite from our local grocery store last spring & have only pulled it out a few times.

the first time we flew the kite we had to actaully help it out by one of us tossing it up & the other person running the length of a field with it…but not on this day, it was more like our little kite was so excited to get up there he could hardly wait…& then like, ”well, i guess we should bring it down now” after both of us got a chance to fly it for a bit.  haha

i don’t know what it is, but flying a kite makes me feel like a kid again & want to do all sorts of fun “enjoy the moment” type things on a far more regular basis.  thanks so much for this fun afternoon babes, it was still refreshing to me just going through these photos.  :)   i’m so glad we enjoy doing relaxing & sometimes silly things together! i love you!  xoxo

& there you have it folks.  i hope this was a bright little reminder to get out there & do some of the things you always wish you could take the time to do! you’ll be so glad you did!

LOVE THIS RESURRECTION POST! I LOVE YOU!!! I love your perspective and love for life. The part about “enjoying” the blog is everything…even if you had 70 weddings between posts – the point is to ENJOY – both give and receive joy as you share the beauty of your life & livlihood. So proud of you. xoxoxo
